What makes us volunteer? What part of this urge to help is altruistic and how much of it is selfish? The hope is that the first thought is to help and serve but how many times the big egos get in the way for the desire to be noticed and approved of. What about completely egoic people then who do not seem to experience any urges to volunteer but are staying true to themselves without implying false desires to be recognized as good samaritans...
