Luba Shapiro Grenader was born in Moscow, Russia. Her mixed-media figurative drawings and small installations merge found fibers, papers and wood. Her work spans themes of motherhood politicization, women and wars, and currently, gender and nationality-based oppression she experienced growing up under Soviet regime in Russia. Her work has been a part of local and national exhibitions. She holds an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and has been teaching a variety of media and theme based art classes at the local art centers and privately. Grenader resides north of Boston with her husband and two teenage children.
